Day 1
Arusha – Tarangire National Park
Your safari begins with a morning pickup from your hotel in Arusha, followed by a scenic drive of approximately two to three hours to Tarangire National Park. Known for its iconic baobab trees and large herds of elephants, Tarangire offers a quieter yet highly rewarding safari experience.
Upon arrival, you begin your game drive across rolling savannah plains dotted with acacia woodlands and seasonal swamps. The Tarangire River serves as a permanent water source, attracting elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, and wildebeests throughout the year. Lions are often seen resting in shaded areas, while leopards may be spotted along riverine trees. The park also supports an impressive variety of birdlife, making it attractive for bird enthusiasts.
A picnic lunch is enjoyed inside the park, followed by continued exploration in the afternoon. In the late day, you drive to your selected midrange lodge near the Ngorongoro highlands or Karatu area, where you will enjoy a comfortable room, hot shower, dinner, and overnight stay in a relaxed setting.

Day 2
Ngorongoro Crater – Return to Arusha
After an early breakfast, you depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend approximately 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of Africa’s most unique wildlife areas, hosting a dense concentration of animals within its natural volcanic caldera.
The crater floor is home to lions, elephants, buffalo, zebras, wildebeests, hippos, and hyenas. It is also one of the best locations in Tanzania to spot the endangered black rhino. The combination of open grasslands, freshwater lakes, and swamp areas creates an ecosystem that supports around 25,000 animals year-round.
A picnic lunch is served inside the crater near the hippo pool before ascending back to the rim. In the afternoon, you begin the drive back to Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon, where the safari concludes.
