Full Itinerary

Day 1

Arusha – Tarangire National Park

Morning departure from Arusha toward Tarangire National Park. The park is defined by rolling savannah, acacia woodland, and impressive baobab trees that dominate the horizon. Tarangire is particularly known for its high concentration of elephants, often seen in large family groups near the Tarangire River.

Game viewing focuses along the river system where buffalo, giraffes, zebras, and antelopes gather. Predators such as lions are frequently found resting in shaded areas or monitoring prey movement near water sources.

After an afternoon game drive, transfer to your lodge or tented camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 2

Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, proceed to Lake Manyara National Park, located beneath the dramatic Great Rift Valley escarpment. The park offers diverse habitats within a compact area — dense groundwater forest, open grassland, and alkaline lake shoreline.

Large troops of baboons are commonly seen near the entrance, while elephants move through the forest corridors. Along the lakeshore, hippos rest in shallow pools and flamingos may gather depending on water conditions. Lake Manyara is also known for occasional tree-climbing lions, although sightings are not guaranteed.

In the afternoon, begin the scenic drive toward the Serengeti ecosystem and overnight in or near the park boundary.

Day 3

Lake Manyara National Park - Serengeti National Park

Today you enter Serengeti National Park, where the landscape opens into wide plains extending beyond the horizon. Wildlife encounters begin immediately as you cross into the park.

Central Serengeti (Seronera region) is known for its year-round wildlife density due to permanent water sources. Lions are frequently seen on rocky kopjes, cheetahs patrol open plains, and leopards are often found resting in acacia trees near riverbanks.

Afternoon game drive before arriving at your lodge or tented camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 4

Full Day in Serengeti

A full day dedicated to exploring Serengeti allows deeper wildlife tracking. Early morning departure increases the chance of observing predators during their active hunting hours.

Depending on the season, you may encounter herds of wildebeest and zebras moving across the plains as part of the Great Migration. Even outside migration periods, Serengeti maintains strong predator-prey dynamics throughout the year.

Enjoy a picnic lunch in the bush before continuing with afternoon game viewing across different sectors of the park. Return to camp before sunset.

Day 5

Serengeti Exploration and Transfer to Ngorongoro Highlands

Morning game drive in Serengeti, focusing on areas not yet explored. With three days allocated to the park, there is sufficient time to follow recent wildlife sightings and adjust the route strategically.

After lunch, begin your transfer toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, ascending gradually from open plains into cooler highland terrain. Dinner and overnight at your lodge near the crater rim or in the surrounding area.

Day 6

Ngorongoro Crater and Return to Arusha

Early departure for descent into Ngorongoro Crater. The crater floor supports a high concentration of wildlife within a relatively compact area, increasing the probability of close-range sightings.

Large lion prides, buffalo herds, hippos in freshwater pools, and numerous plains game species are commonly observed. The crater also provides one of the better opportunities to spot the endangered black rhino within Tanzania.

After a half-day game drive and picnic lunch near the hippo pool, ascend the crater and return to Arusha in the late afternoon.
