Day 1
Arusha – Lake Manyara National Park
Your adventure begins with an early morning departure from Arusha, heading toward the scenic Lake Manyara National Park, located at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment.
Lake Manyara is famous for its diverse ecosystems packed into a relatively small area. Upon entering the park, you will drive through a lush groundwater forest filled with baboons, blue monkeys, and colorful birdlife. As the forest opens up, the landscape transforms into open plains and the alkaline lake shoreline, where thousands of flamingos and other water birds gather.
Lake Manyara is also known for its tree-climbing lions, large elephant families, hippos, giraffes, zebras, and wildebeests. The variety of habitats makes game viewing exciting and unpredictable.
Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park before continuing your afternoon game drive. Later, exit the park and drive to Karatu for dinner and overnight at a budget lodge or campsite.

Day 2
Ngorongoro Crater – Karatu
After an early breakfast, depart for the world-renowned Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s most extraordinary natural wonders.
Descend 600 meters into the crater floor for a spectacular half-day game drive. The Ngorongoro Crater is often called Africa’s “Eden” because of its incredible concentration of wildlife within a small area. It is one of the best places in Tanzania to see the Big Five, including the endangered black rhino.
Expect to encounter lion prides, buffalo herds, elephants, hyenas, zebras, wildebeests, and hippos wallowing in freshwater pools. The soda lake at the center of the crater attracts flamingos and a wide range of bird species, making it a paradise for wildlife photography.
Enjoy a picnic lunch near the hippo pool while surrounded by the dramatic crater walls.
In the afternoon, ascend the crater and return to your accommodation in Karatu for dinner and overnight.

Day 3
Day 3: Tarangire National Park – Arusha
After breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its massive elephant herds and iconic baobab trees that dominate the landscape.
Tarangire offers a quieter and more exclusive safari atmosphere compared to other parks, yet it is rich in wildlife. The Tarangire River serves as the main water source and attracts large concentrations of animals, especially during the dry season.
During your full-day game drive, you may spot elephants in large family groups, lions resting under acacia trees, leopards hidden in branches, giraffes browsing peacefully, and herds of zebras and wildebeests crossing the plains. Bird enthusiasts will also enjoy the park’s impressive birdlife, with over 500 species recorded.
After a picnic lunch inside the park and an afternoon game drive, you will return to Arusha in the late afternoon, marking the end of your incredible 3-day Tanzania safari adventure.
