This five-day luxury safari is structured to combine ground exploration of Northern Tanzania’s most concentrated wildlife regions with a time-efficient fly-out from the Serengeti. The itinerary begins in Tarangire National Park, continues to the Ngorongoro Crater, and extends to the central Serengeti plains for two nights before concluding with a scheduled flight back to Arusha.
The routing is deliberate. Tarangire offers strong elephant density and uncrowded landscapes. Ngorongoro provides one of Africa’s highest wildlife concentrations within a defined volcanic caldera. The Serengeti delivers expansive predator territory and, seasonally, segments of the Great Migration. Luxury lodges and tented camps are selected for location, privacy, service standards, and consistent operational quality.
Full Itinerary
Day 1
Arusha – Tarangire National Park
Your safari begins with a morning transfer from your hotel in Arusha to Tarangire National Park, approximately two to three hours by road. The park is defined by open savannah, ancient baobab trees, and the Tarangire River, a permanent water source that sustains wildlife during the dry season.
Game drives focus along the river system where elephants gather in notable numbers. Herds of buffalo, zebra, giraffe, and various antelope species are frequently observed. Lions are often found resting in shaded areas, while leopards may be sighted in riverine woodland. The park’s relative seclusion compared to other northern circuit parks provides a quieter viewing experience.
After a full afternoon game drive and picnic lunch inside the park, you proceed to a luxury lodge located in the Karatu or Ngorongoro highlands for dinner and overnight.

Day 2
Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive
An early breakfast is followed by a drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You descend approximately 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive within this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The crater floor supports a stable population of wildlife estimated at over 25,000 animals year-round. Lions, elephants, buffalo, wildebeest, zebra, hyena, and hippos are consistently observed. The crater is also one of the most reliable areas in Tanzania for sightings of the endangered black rhino. The contained ecosystem allows for concentrated wildlife viewing within a relatively compact area.
After a picnic lunch inside the crater, you ascend to the rim and continue toward the Serengeti region, arriving at your luxury lodge or tented camp by late afternoon.

Day 3
Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you proceed into Serengeti National Park, beginning game drives en route to Central Serengeti. The transition from highland forest to open plains is gradual, and wildlife sightings often begin well before reaching camp.
Central Serengeti is recognized for consistent predator activity due to permanent water sources and stable prey populations. Lions frequently occupy kopje formations, cheetahs patrol open grasslands, and leopards are found in riverine vegetation. Large herds of wildebeest and zebra are present year-round, with migration movements dependent on season.
You return to your luxury camp in the evening where refined dining, spacious suites, and uninterrupted savannah views define the experience.

Day 4
Full Day in Serengeti National Park
This day allows for extended exploration within the Serengeti ecosystem. Early morning drives maximize predator activity, while afternoon drives focus on broader wildlife distribution across plains and woodland corridors.
Depending on travel season, the Great Migration may be accessible within driving range. Outside migration periods, the resident wildlife population alone provides substantial viewing opportunities. Elephant herds, giraffe towers, buffalo groups, and diverse antelope species are regularly encountered.
You may choose a full-day game drive with picnic lunch or return to camp midday for leisure before continuing in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight remain at your luxury Serengeti camp.

Day 5
Serengeti – Fly to Arusha
After breakfast, you are transferred to the local airstrip for a scheduled light aircraft flight from Serengeti to Arusha. The flight provides aerial perspectives of the plains and reduces the need for a full-day road transfer.
Upon arrival in Arusha, you are transferred to your hotel or Kilimanjaro International Airport according to your onward travel arrangements.
