Full Itinerary
Day 1
Arusha – Tarangire National Park
Your private safari begins with a morning departure from Arusha to Tarangire National Park, approximately two to three hours by road. Tarangire is known for its large elephant population and distinctive baobab trees scattered across open savannah.
Game drives focus along the Tarangire River, a permanent water source that attracts wildlife throughout the year. Elephants are commonly seen in large family groups, often accompanied by buffalo, zebra, and wildebeest. Lions are frequently observed resting under acacia trees, while leopards may occasionally be located in riverine woodland.
After a picnic lunch inside the park and continued afternoon exploration, you proceed to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
OVERNIGHT:
Lodge/ Camp

Day 2
Tarangire – Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, you drive toward Lake Manyara National Park, located at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Though relatively compact, the park offers diverse habitats including groundwater forest, open plains, and alkaline lake shoreline.
Large troops of baboons and elephants are frequently observed in the forest zone. The lake attracts hippos and seasonal birdlife, including flamingos. Lake Manyara is also associated with occasional tree-climbing lions, although sightings depend on conditions.
Following a half-day game drive and picnic lunch, you continue to your lodge near the Ngorongoro highlands for dinner and overnight.
OVERNIGHT:
Lodge/ Tented Camp
MEALS:
Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Day 3
Lake Manyara – Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you depart for Serengeti National Park via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The landscape gradually opens into wide grasslands as you approach the Serengeti ecosystem.
Game viewing begins upon entry into the park. Central Serengeti maintains stable wildlife populations year-round due to permanent water sources and consistent prey availability. Lions are commonly found on rocky kopjes, cheetahs patrol open plains, and leopards are often located along river systems. Large herds of wildebeest and zebra move across the savannah throughout much of the year.
Arrive at your lodge or tented camp in Serengeti for dinner and overnight.
OVERNIGHT:
Lodge/ Camp
MEALS:
Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Day 4
Full Day in Serengeti National Park
This day is dedicated to exploring the Serengeti with full flexibility under your private guide. Early morning game drives increase the likelihood of observing active predators, while afternoon drives expand coverage into additional wildlife corridors.
Depending on the season, segments of the Great Migration may be accessible. Resident wildlife populations ensure consistent sightings of elephants, buffalo, giraffes, hyenas, and various antelope species throughout the year.
You may choose to spend the entire day in the field with a picnic lunch or return to camp midday before continuing in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight remain at your Serengeti accommodation.
OVERNIGHT:
Lodge/ Camp
MEALS:
Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Day 5
Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater – Return to Arusha
After an early breakfast, you depart Serengeti and drive toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Upon arrival at the crater rim, you descend approximately 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive.
The crater floor supports a dense and stable wildlife population including lions, elephants, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, hippos, and hyenas. It remains one of Tanzania’s most reliable areas for observing the endangered black rhino. The contained volcanic landscape allows concentrated wildlife viewing within a relatively compact area.
After a picnic lunch inside the crater, you ascend to the rim and continue the drive back to Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon where your private safari with WAZO SAFARIS
concludes.
